Course Description: Let’s dive into multiplication and soar high with division as we explore the creativity and uniqueness of God’s animal creations, specifically fish and birds. We will study the various species of fish and birds throughout the year while also strategically building skills in multiplication and division, starting with basic multiplication facts and progressing to multidigit multiplication and division. There will be opportunities for animal research and presentations throughout the year. Our goal will be strong foundational math skills to build upon as your student grows. We will spend time weekly mastering math facts alongside studying the swimming and flying creatures God created on the fifth day, learning through games, practice, reading, research, and more.
Course Prerequisites: Proficiency in addition and subtraction

Books & Supplies required for purchase by families: 
Homework Requirements: Students will be assigned weekly math review worksheets to do at home throughout the week to practice/reinforce the topics covered in class, as well as suggestions for continuing the animal discussion at home. Allow 30-40 min per week plus time to research animals at home.

Teacher Bio: Stephanie Penick is a homeschooling mom to her two boys. She has a BS in Mathematics and Finance from High Point University, and a Masters degree in Mathematical Finance from UNCC. She loves to make math practical and fun for young minds.
